The Role of Reviewers

Overview

The role of the Reviewers is to take feedback from church, circuit and community members on whom the work of the Minister impacts. These are compiled into one response to enable the Review meeting to be a positive and supportive discussion for the benefit of the Minister and his or her ministry in the circuit.

Detail

A Reviewer must be in sympathy with the aims and objectives of the ADR process designed for the continuing development of Ministers

The two Reviewers will

  • Undertake training when first appointed.
  • work with each other to gather relevant thinking to enable them to respond to the questions provided as part of the scheme. (The training programme will provide more ideas on how to do this)
  • reflect on those responses and send a joint summary of reflections to Facilitator
  • receive reflections from the Minister through the Facilitator
  • attend the Review Meeting as arranged by the Facilitator and be prepared to discuss the outcomes of the review with the Minister.
  • be available for up to 6 years
  • be willing to remain with a particular Minister for a minimum of 3 years.
  • reflect on the value of Review for the Minister and the part played by the Facilitator and themselves.
  • be aware that they are assigned to a particular Minister with the agreement of that Minister. It is possible that the Minister may feel it beneficial to have a change of reviewers before the end of the three year period

At the end of the Review, Reviewers will be given the opportunity to comment on the Review....
