Beyond Wood and Stone?

Disley Methodist Church & Community Hall

Overview:

The new churchDisley Methodist Church is a lively church providing a range of spaces for worship and other community uses. The original church was built in 1906 but concerns over spiralling maintenance costs, and an urge to develop a more active mission and community life, prompted members to consider starting afresh with a new church and hall. Central to the vision was that the building should function not only as a church, but should also be suitable for community use and be economical to run and maintain. The new building was officially opened on 1st March 2009. Members of the church are very excited with all the possibilities for the future including worship for children with Early Birds and puppets!, Cafe style along with Taize and Celtic worship being introduced.
