SALT CELLAR, Oldham awarded £25,000 from Community Foundation
The Community Foundation were we recently appointed to deliver funding on behalf of the Office of the Third Sector as part of their initiative Real Help for Communities: Charities, volunteers & social enterprises. The Targeted Support Fund, which delivers £15.5m worth of support to the Third Sector offers grants up to £40,000 to registered charities and companies limited by guarantee (with charitable objectives) to cover revenue and core costs. The Fund aims to provide support to third sector organisations to meet demand for services and tackle unemployment and is a response to the current unfavourable economic climate.
Organisations had to demonstrate they work within one or more of the themes below to be able to access this funding:
- Information, Advice and Guidance (in the areas of housing, financial, debt and legal)
- Employment and employability (training and support related to finding employment)
- Health and Well-being (in the areas of mental health, relationship breakdown, counselling, domestic violence and substance abuse)
The Community Foundation distributes the fund in the following areas: Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Tameside and Wigan.
The Saltcellar, Oldham have been awarded £25,000 to assist with resourcing for the Salt Cellar Youth Project, the catering training programme, plus improved facilities for the counseling services provided.
