District Safeguarding Group

Could you volunteer?

What is Manchester & Stockport Methodist District Safeguarding Group (DSG)?

The DSG is the group set up to support and oversee the safeguarding activity across the District and is accountable to the District Council.

For more information please see the local DSG Terms of Reference (2021).

What commitment is required?
The group usually meets 3 times a year in the evening, although you may sometimes be asked to support short, time limited task and finish groups.
What experience would I need to join?

We are looking for anyone with relevant professional experience in safeguarding such as in social care, health, teaching, law, police, a faith organisation or a voluntary organisation.

You may also have experience of safeguarding within the church, perhaps as a safeguarding officer or trainer or an experienced minister.

We are particularly looking for people who bring specific experience, such as those who work with domestic abuse services or with survivors.

There is more information in the Role Description and Person Specification, but if you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact Helen for further information or discussion: mands@dso.methodist.org.uk
