We echo the message that mental health should be talked about and treated on a par with physical health this World Mental Health Day.

There are 5 proven steps that can help you to improve your mental health, which can be woven into your prayer life and daily walk with God.

1. Take notice – remember the things that bring you joy, and be mindful – why not begin the day mindfully sitting in God’s presence?
2. Be active (do things you enjoy!)
3. Give – your presence, your time, your support
4. Keep learning – open yourself to new experiences. What’s something you’ve always wanted to try but have never got round to?
5. Stay connected – to your family and friends
