October is domestic abuse awareness month
Speaking up about domestic abuse is central to our mission within the Methodist church, but it’s all too easy to think that it is something that happens to ‘other people’ and elsewhere.
However, the reality is that in the UK, 1 in 4 women and 1 in 6-7 men will experience domestic abuse.
That means that it affects people in our churches, workplaces, families and community groups.
So, what can you do to speak up about the reality of domestic abuse?
Let’s name it and talk about it; in worship, in prayers, together. Use our Methodist resources: |
